Event Description

This multiple session program will provide an overview of school nutrition programs, define the role and responsibilities of a manager or director, and review the relationship between local policies and State/Federal regulations. Sessions include Key Performance Indicators, Meal Patterns, Food Production Records, Marketing, Procurement, Inventory Management and more. The course has been developed to encourage open-group discussion so participants can be actively involved in learning the skills and knowledge needed for the daily operation of school nutrition programs.

Important Session Information

This session is part of the ICN/TDA Introduction to School Nutrition Leadership Program and is intended for new and aspiring school nutrition program managers and directors with five years or less experience. Participants will learn how to develop procurement guidelines that comply with established regulations and support the operational goals of the school nutrition program. Join this session to learn how to establish operational procedures to effectively manage receiving and inventory systems.   Zoom link will be provided to participants 48 hours prior to the session.
